TROY >> Red Molly new CD, Red Album, due out May 27, is going to surprise some of the fan base that comes to see them at Troy Music Hall Friday night, May 16.

While Red Molly, Wilco and Uncle Tupelo all fall loosely into the category of Americana, Red Molly has always been more solidly traditional in its three part vocal harmonies playing off Molly Venter acoustic guitar, Abbie Gardner dobro, and Laurie MacAllister bass. Wilco and Uncle Tupelo have always been edgier with strong rock elements. Coomer has brought those influences into Red Molly music for the first time on this album.
