"We're looking forward to a great season. We've got a tough schedule and some tough games ahead of us," he said. "We've got no easy nights on our schedule. To be honest, I think we're going to have some great wins and some heartbreaking losses."
"We played an okay game," said Clark. "And it was a really good team."
"It's just back to the drawing board, I guess," he said.
Senior Zak Hazlett led the scoring for Grand, putting in a total of 21 points for the team. Other notable players from Grand included sophomores Kaden Risenhoover and Nat Smith, who scored nine and eight points, respectively.
On Friday, Dec. 2, the No. 2 ranked Manti Templars defeated the Red Devils by the score of 47 68.

Clark said he expects the upcoming season will test the mettle of the Red Devil squad, but he is optimistic about the team's chances.
The next day, Dec. 3, Grand was matched up against the North Summit Braves.

"It was a great defensive effort on the entire part of the JV team," said GCHS assistant coach Tony Chacon. "We were up 18 to nothing before [the Badgers] first scored."
Later that week, the varsity team traveled to a tournament in Richfield to compete against Manti and North Summit. Grand did not fare as well in the contest against Manti, leading to the Red Devils first of two "heartbreaking" losses in the tournament.
Hazlett was once again the top scorer for the Red Devils, contributing 20 of the team's 47 points. Smith added another 12 for Grand.
"We played a better game," said Clark. "We had a lot of effort, but we just couldn't buy a basket."
Despite the losses, Clark said the team will keep working hard to improve.

Red Devil basketball team starts season with win against Wayne loses two in Richfield tourney
"In both games, the turnovers were really hurting us," Clark said. "We had 22 against Manti and 23 against North Summit We didn't shoot the ball well against North Summit. But we did a really good job at rebounding. We had 32 against North Summit and 35 against Manti."
The Grand County High School boys basketball team started off the 2011 2012 season with a victory against Wayne High School in Bicknell, Utah on Tuesday, Nov. 29. The Red Devils won their season opener against the Badgers by the score of 57 54.
Despite the loss, the Red Devils pulled down an impressive number of rebounds, collecting a total of 35 over the course of the game.
On defense, Hazlett once again proved to be a key player, leading the team with 10 rebounds, followed by Smith who collected six.
The Red Devils lost to the Braves by the score of 41 65. In the loss, Hazlett scored 14 points for Grand, while junior Wesley Rodda and sophomores Koi Cook and Kaden Risenhoover also got on the board for Grand.
